Define your goals
To celebrate and build upon the successful fundraising campaign, Forward for All, which surpassed $225 million, the Y of the North looked to 5 by 5 Design to showcase this grand achievement. Our process began by creating clarity around the goals: to recognize funders, tell an engaging story of the great success, and show how the resources would be used to make a positive impact. The Y of the North also needed a signature piece to share at a celebration event with donors, volunteers, and the local communities and to serve as a tool to support future fundraising activities.
Tell an inspiring story
The Y of the North is a complex organization offering numerous programs that serve a diverse community. Trying to tell this story was complicated and confusing. Our approach was to reframe the offerings by using the right words, images, and graphics within a smart layout and design focused on community outcomes. The result was a powerful tool that showed the value provided to those served in a clear and empowering way.
Make it meaningful
Attendees at the celebration event received the book as a gift, which included donor names, inspiring stories, and details about how and where funds would be used. The Forward for All campaign made it possible for the Y of the North to reach new heights and expand its community offerings and the book provided a tangible way to share that distinctive work. What’s more, the book was a winner of the 2022 American Graphic Design Awards.
